You know those times when your playing a game so friendly when you was a kid but then something off putting or disturbing happens making your pause the game, turn it off and never touch the game ever again.
So i thought id show some of my top 5 disturbing moments in non horror games.
if you know any other odd and disturbing stuff in non horror game post them here.
5. Sly racoon 2 - Contessa
Sly 2 a game all about being a thief stealing parts from a clockwork beast from other thieves nothing much too out of place, until you reach level 4 now as a kid i was scared of spiders and encountering this thing, seeing her walking around and randomly swinging to random locations really put me off the game for a while and didn't come back a month later after playing.
4. Super Paper Mario - Mimi
Now you may be thinking and laughing at this but just hold on for a second and ill tell you about how disturbing Mimi is, first she was just a regular NPC to unsuspecting players and to be honest i don't think anyone would have noticed that she was a boss to freak out young players when she shows her true form.
3. Sonic CD - Fun is infinite
A Sonic game on the list, now what can be disturbing in this, well in Sonic CD there is a sound test option to listen to the soundtrack and SFX and each is labeled in numbers but when you enter the number "12" and "25" you will be greeted too a disturbing picture and background music with a message on it that translates to.
"Infinite Fun" "Sega Enterprises" and on the bottom right "Majin" which this japan term stand for Devil, soo its signed by the devil well okay then Sega.
2. Undertale - Omega Flowey
now Undertale was made roughly 3 years ago now so i was older when i played this but its doesn't stop me from adding this game on for how low key the creep factor was.
For a game so light and innocent about teaching the player that killing is not necessary at all, but a character named Flowey follows the player and telling them "in this world its kill or be killed" now for a regular talking flower to say that is a bit off putting but the true creep is his transformation.
not only the creepy look of this boss but not only you cannot reset your save but he can make save states in the fight and forcing loading them and every time you die he gives you a creepy message with an infinite strings of laughing text covering the screen and then eventually force closing your game.
1. Earthbound - Giygas
Earthbound is and RPG game for the SNES and made by NINTENDO, seriously Nintendo thought this was a good idea like no joke here this is a kids game that is bright and full of colour but in the end this here flips everything upside down. I don't think words and explain well enough how messed up this is for a kids game just imagine how horrified they must have been.
